Will my device be sent elsewhere for data recovery?

Your device normally stays in Datraction's London lab from intake to return. A small number of cases need a specialist we work with, usually chip-level flash work. We explain why, name the laboratory and obtain your explicit approval before the device goes anywhere else.

What happens when your device arrives

We photograph the device, create a job ticket and confirm its arrival. Diagnosis and recovery are then carried out in our London lab unless we have agreed a different route with you.

Some unusual failures need a tool, donor component or specialist procedure that is not sensible to duplicate in every laboratory. In that situation we explain the reason for the referral, the likely cost and any effect on the timescale.

You keep control of the decision

We do not quietly subcontract a device. Nothing is sent to a partner laboratory without your explicit approval. If you do not want a referral, we will explain what we can establish in-house and arrange the return of your device.
