A drive collected here simply has further to travel before the 5–10 working day standard turnaround clock starts, and we build that into the schedule rather than hope it doesn’t matter.
Why the tier you pick matters just as much from here
Because the transit itself already adds a few days on top of whichever bench tier you choose, the choice between Standard, Express and Emergency has a bigger effect on your total wait than it would somewhere closer to London. Express (3–5 working days from arrival) and Emergency (24 hours from arrival) both claw back time that distance would otherwise add; Standard’s 5–10 working days is no worse from Glasgow than from anywhere else, but the wait door-to-door is still longer than the bench figure alone suggests.
What happens when your device arrives
Every device we take in goes through the same intake, whoever sent it and wherever it came from:

An encrypted drive can only be recovered if you supply the key or password: full-disk encryption is not something the lab can bypass.
